Chase Christopher

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph my friend's adorable 3 month old son Chase, in his Christening outfit. Here are a couple of my favorites.

His outfit and the blanket he's laying on belonged to his father when he was a baby. I love that!

 Chase has an adorable smile...
How cute are these socks and shoes?!

And of course we had to take some pictures in his little monster Halloween costume...

 Ahhhh... nap time.

My Maddie

Today I went with Maddie on her first field trip for pre-school. It was a really special day for us...a pumpkin patch and hay ride with her class. Every kid got to take home a free pumpkin! And Maddie was sweet enough to let me photograph her in the backyard!

Hope you are all enjoying this magical time of year!

My Little Pumpkins

Today we took the girls to my FAVORITE local pumpkin patch. We had a great time....well some of us did (eh hem....Claudia!) We did the straw maze, rode ponies and airplanes, saw farm animals and picked out a special pumpkin for Maddie. Unfortunately, we only have grainy cell phone pictures. But when we got home I set up our own pumpkin patch for the girls to enjoy.

Who wouldn't buy pumpkins from these gals!!??

Pantry Sign

I have had my eye on this pantry sign at my favorite antique shop for a while now. I love it and the colors are perfect for my kitchen, but I can't make up my mind if it is too small for this space?

They don't have a bigger one and I can return it for store credit if I decide I can't make it work. I would LOVE your thoughts on this. PLEASE......help......what do you think?

Halloween Peppermint Patties

As I had mentioned earlier, Maddie has become obsessed with Giada's cooking shows. She particularly loved her old Halloween episode and after watching it several hundred times we decided that we should probably test out the recipes. I was amazed at how easy and delicious the Halloween peppermint patties were. You seriously have to try them. The orange food coloring made them perfect for our Fall Dessert Party, but I also think they would be great in a different color for other holidays/occasions.

Hopefully you have a super cute helper with you....

Be prepared to make a little bit of a mess....

But TOTALLY worth it!

You can find the recipe here.

Fall Dessert Party

This weekend we invited the grandparents up for our Fall Dessert Party. Once it got dark we took the party outside under the stars for some pumpkin smores on the fire. It was a special memory.

A little background on the dessert selection....Madeline has been obsessed with a Halloween episode of Giada's cooking show that I dvr'd from 20009!!!! She practically memorized the entire episode and wanted to try her hand at the recipes from that show. All but the caramel apples (the caramel didn't stick to our apples well) worked out really well for us and were delicious.

I saw these simple "witch brooms" on Pinterest and Maddie ate the entire plate in about five minutes!!! Sugar Rush anyone?
The orange Peppermint Patties were a Giada recipe and were so easy and delicious. Another one of Maddie's favorites, they seriously taste just like a peppermint patty!!!
Although they weren't the prettiest, the caramel apples were fun to make.
 Apple Pie Cake
For refreshments we Hot Spiced Cider, Hot Chocolate and of course Pumpkin Coffee.
These were Giada's Mini Pumpkin Cupcakes. Shaun was a big fan of these, they taste just like pumpkin pie but the chocolate frosting adds a delicious twist.
It was such a great night, I wish I had pictures to share of our smore party, my mom bough orange pumpkin shaped marshmallows for the smores which was perfect for the Halloween season. I will be sharing recipes from the night in a separate post (they were so easy and so delicious!)

Hope you're all having a great weekend!
