Silver Spoons

You've probably heard the old saying "She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth." It has a negative connotation...usually describing someone who has had a very privileged, easy life. Well, although I have had far from what you would call a difficult life, I wouldn't exactly say I was "born with a silver spoon in my mouth!" But APPARENTLY I WAS BORN WITH A SILVER SPOON IN MY MOUTH and a silver fork!!!!! My mother gave me these "antique silver baby utensils" and I when I asked where she got them she said that they were from when I was a baby! Aren't they neat?!

What a fancy baby I must've been....eating off my silver spoon!

This has made me totally re-evaluate the utensils I use for Maddie...plastic handles...neon colors! Ugh...babies these days....they have no class.

This Old House Magazine

It is no secret that I LOVE to look through decorating magazines. You should have seen my reaction when I received my Country Living subscription from Shaun as a Christmas gift this year! Don't get me wrong, it is so wonderful to be able to look through all of your amazing blogs and enjoy sights like Pinterest. Trust me, I am addicted. But isn't there  just something about waiting for that monthly issue to come in the mail, grabbing a warm drink and drawing inspiration from the beautiful images printed on each page?  Unfortunately, decorating magazines can become a bit pricey at times. One solution I found is to look for a magazine that both you and your husband will enjoy...that way you can justify the splurge. This Old House Magazine is a favorite of mine and Shaun's. Every month we literally fight over who gets to look at it first. Of course, I always win because lets face it... I'm stronger, feistier and overall better in a fight.  Just kidding of course. But seriously. If you love to decorate and your husband is a handyman or 'wanna-be handyman' this might just be the magazine for you!
This was one of my favorite issues!
