Samantha and Brody

Last week my friend Samantha had a birthday and to celebrate I wanted to do a photoshoot of her and her adorable son Brody. I have been friends with Samantha since we were 2 years old and it is unbelievable to see her chasing after her own little one!

Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Clearly these two have amazing taste in coats!

I have been wanting to use this antique door as a photo prop since I bought it two and half years ago!

 Gorgeous...

I love Sammy's eyes in this picture!
I always love when Sammy volunteers for a photo shoot because she is so photogenic it's nearly impossible to take a bad picture of her!

Happy Birthday!

Big Girl Shoes

Just wanted to pop in and say Happy Saturday. I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was wonderful.

I decided to take the girls Christmas card photos last night. I have been wanting to do something outside with Christmas trees and fun props, but the girls have been so sick the past two weeks and we are running out of time. So I just took some pictures of the girls inside in their Christmas dresses.  Probably not the best idea to wake Claudia up from a nap to get the picture before the sun sets but hopefully I got a few good shots. Here is a picture of Maddie in mommy's big girls shoes. She is getting so big!

Homemade Cookie Ornament

Christmas decorating has officially begun in my house and I'm not afraid to admit it! The girls have been really sick lately and they've been feeling a little cooped up. So, for something different to do I decided to teach them how to make non-edible cookie ornaments. My siblings and I used to love them when my mom would use them on her tree....in fact one of us loved them so much we tried to eat them! Not. a good. idea.

We decided to make stars and use baker's twine to hang them. I'm not sure if I want to use them on a tree, or use them in some other way. They even look pretty sitting in a bowl!

This is the recipe I used. So simple and fun.

Girls Bedding

Well once again Halloween was hijacked by a fluke storm....kind of making me scared for what next year will bring. Luckily the girls managed to squeeze in a tiny bit of trick-or-treating before we were stuck without power for days! Moving on...

I can't wait to decorate for Christmas, I'm thinking I'll hold off until next week though. I would love to finish Christmas shopping ASAP. Santa is thinking of bringing Maddie a full size mattress and bedding as an early gift this year (especially considering she is getting way to big for her current bed (probably why she ends up in our bed at some point every night...although I must admit...I don't hate it.)

Here are some of my inspiration for bedding that I hope to find.

I don't always love bedding sets where everything looks super matchy. I kind of like an eclectic, mix and match kind of look.
