What a strange year... I feel completely thrown off by the snow storm that occurred on Halloween weekend. Because of that, we didn't get to have our party and we had to do trick-or-treat in the mall! Usually I am one of those freaks who decorates for Christmas on November 1st ( I know I know.) But since we didn't have the big Halloween "finale" it feels like Halloween never came. So I don't feel exactly right about moving on to Christmas yet...but I got sick of looking at my fall decorations and took it all down today. I started thinking and planning what I want to put up for Christmas but I am not totally ready (maybe next week.) I know you are probably thinking...what about that holiday that comes between Halloween and Christmas...why not decorate for Thanksgiving? I just can't bring myself to do it! But, until the Christmas mood fully hits me (should be any day now) here are some beautiful Thanksgiving images.

Claudia's Room
I thought I would share a few photos of Claudia's room with you. I was really not feeling well during this pregnancy so it was not easy for me to get around to shop, so I tried to use a lot of what I already had at home. The crib set was really cheap at T.J. Maxx ( I loved it so much that I bought it before I even knew we were having a girl...but secretly I knew.) The rest of the decorations were either really cheap or home made.
I like using pretty cards from my baby shower as decoration...
Two of my favorite outfits for her....
Her initials....you can't tell from the picture but the letters are sparkly silver.
The dresser was out for someone's trash and re-painted. At first we painted it white and used it in Maddie's room and for Claudia I did it in a very pale pink and replaced the knobs with these I found at my favorite antique store. And I printed one of my favorite Winne the Pooh poems on a pretty piece of scrapbook paper and used a frame I already had.
My husband did the chair rail and I love the way it looks. When we moved it this room was two scary shades of purple! This room may not be exactly the way I wanted but I think we did well with limited money and my lack of ability to get out shopping at the time.
And now the best part....my beautiful, sweet baby Claudia!!

To plant shelf...or not to plant shelf?
Please tell me if this is a crazy idea....
We have a narrow foyer with a high ceiling. In the foyer we have a coat closet with a plant shelf on top. I try not to keep too many real plants in my house because I have a very serious habit of forgetting to water them until they die. ( I know i know I'm horrible.) Soooo, I basically have this waste of space above the closet and it just sits there and gets dusty.
Call me crazy, but I was thinking of tearing down the closet and opening up the foyer. Another reason for this idea...our house does not have a good room for our Christmas tree!!!!!!!! A good Christmas tree room was one of the major criteria on our list while house shopping and somehow we ended up with a house that doesn't have adequate space for a tree!!! If we had an open foyer we could even get one of those really tall trees! How amazing would that be? I don't know... what do you think? Is this a crazy idea? Should I just leave the plant shelf alone?
