Fantasy House Shopping

When we were little my parents used to take us downtown in the evenings to get an ice cream cone and walk through town. Each of us would take turns picking which house we would live in. These walks were some of my favorite times with my family....ice cream + fantasy house shopping = right up my alley! To this day I love walking through different towns and neighborhoods and picking out which house I would live in. I also wish it wasn't weird to knock on random doors and demand a tour of the inside! I also miss trick-or-treating for this very reason...you could catch a glimpse of the interior of some of your favorite neighborhood homes. What other little kid do you know that was more interested in seeing the inside of a house more than getting the candy? (When Shaun and I lived in our old neighborhood a girl came to our door trick-or-treating and when I opened the door she told me how beautiful the inside of my house was....I almost gave her the entire bowl of candy that's how excited I was.)

One day when I was pregnant with Maddie and was trying to learn how to use my camera I took a stroll downtown to take some pictures. This was always my mother's favorite pick when we would walk around fantasy house shopping...

Along the front of their fence they have amazing roses...

I think that's what I love so much about blogs...you get to virtually knock on anyone's door and see inside their beautiful homes. The first blog I discovered (before I really even knew what a blog was) was   The Old Painted Cottage where the first of each month you get a tour of a different beautiful home.

  1. Great house!

But I actually love the sentence:

"I think that's what I love so much about blogs...you get to virtually knock on anyone's door and see inside their beautiful homes."

And may I add: 'their beautiful homes/lives'

Well put. I think you have covered the essence of visiting blogs. I shall remember that!

    Bye!
